HAVE YOU EVER FELT DISCRIMINATED DUE TO NO FAULT OF YOUR OWN?

UPDATE :

We supported this family by helping them to build a small room adjacent to Fousia’s house for her brother Salman who is HIV +, and also has medical needs. The Jamaat has also put in some money for this project. Our funds were used by them for food and medicines.

There was ALSO an urgent need for an elderly couple - Mr Arimugam Parimalam and wife - to have rice and groceries. We got this information from Jamaat and decided to help them right away. Both families are very thankful.

TU is extremely glad to assist this Muslim faith based organisation in helping the poor, and to work with Jamaat-e-Islami-Hind [Coimbatore] on such projects.

This particular project is over : Funding Received. 5,000/- + 5,000/- = Rs 10,000/-

ORIGINAL POST :

HERE’S A STORY OF STIGMA: A BROTHER AND SISTER - BOTH ORPHANS AND BOTH LIVING WITH HIV TRANSMITTED BY THEIR PARENTS AT BIRTH

[Fousia’s Story is brought to us by Abdul Hakim from the Jamaat -e- Islami-Hind of Coimbatore, Tamil Nad]

Greetings from Jamaat. We received one request from a young girl Fousiya - maybe 20 years old. She is HIV Positive and living with her husband, a young boy, maybe 22 years old. He is a mechanic who has no job due to COVID, and both are living in a single-room rented house in Pillayar Puram, Kasthuri gardens, Sundarapuram Coimbatore.

Fousiya has brother, Salman, also young boy HIV positive, and he is suffering from cancer.

We have not enquired in detail, but it is probable that both brother and sister became HIV Positive from birth through their parents. Today they are both orphans, and facing much stigma and discrimination due to no fault of their own. If possible you can support them.

We need to support them to make one more room in their rental house. With cement sheet and some old re-used items materials. This boy Salman needs treatment and healthy food.

In Sha Allah please help them. I can give you Mrs Fousiya’s contact number if it helps

DONATION REQUIRED: Rs 15,000/- or 20,000/- would help to get them a roof over their heads and help in Salman’s treatment. Jamaath will also assist with some amount.

Above : Fousia. In the space behind her will be her new house.
